Questions investigators ask
Straight answers about the tracker, the platform and ordering. If something isn't answered here, see Help and guides.
The tracker
How long does the battery last?
It depends on how often it reports. In real use, reporting a position every few minutes while the vehicle moves, a full charge lasts about a month: we measured 24 to 62 days, typically 33, over six months of trackers in service. Reporting a few times a day lets it run for months, and standby lasts up to 3 years. The battery level shows with every report.
How do I charge it?
With the USB-C cable in the box. A full charge typically takes about 6 hours, 4 to 8 hours depending on the charger.
How does it mount?
The magnet is built into its base. There's nothing to attach.
Can it go under a vehicle?
The housing is IP65: sealed against dust and water jets. It works from −20 °C to +70 °C.
How accurate is it?
Under 2.5 m with a clear view of the sky. Without GPS, it uses Wi-Fi and cell towers for an approximate position.
Which networks does it use?
LTE-M and NB-IoT, with 2G fallback. The cellular service is included in the plan.
What alarms does it have?
Vibration, removal (a light sensor detects when it's taken off), low battery and over-speed. They show on the map and in the alarm history.
What's in the box?
The tracker, configured and assigned to your account, and a USB-C cable.
The platform
How often does the map update?
Each time the tracker reports. You set the interval, from every 5 seconds to every 72 hours, and can change it remotely at any time.
How far back can I look?
Your history is kept as long as your account is open. Trails and playback cover any time range; a Location History report covers a chosen period.
What's in the Location History report?
Every stop and idle time with arrival, departure, duration and street address. Print it to PDF or export it to Excel or CSV.
How do perimeter alerts work?
Draw a circle on the map. When the tracker enters or leaves it, you get a text message. Alerts go to confirmed US mobile numbers.
What commands can I send?
Change the report interval, ask for a position now, switch the tracking mode, or restart the tracker. Each command shows its status in plain words.
Can my operatives see the tracker?
Share it by email and choose what they can do: view, send commands, or change settings. Remove access at any time.
Which phones are supported?
iPhone, with the app in the App Store, and Android coming to Google Play. The web platform also works in any modern phone browser.
Does the app have push notifications?
Not yet. They're coming. Perimeter alerts arrive by text today.

Privacy
Who can see my trackers?
You, the people you share them with, and Triangle Tracking staff when they support your account. We don't sell your data, and this website has no visitor tracking.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. See the Privacy Policy for how to delete your history or your whole account.
Lawful use
Is it legal to use a GPS tracker?
It depends on your state and on the case. Some states give licensed investigators an exemption, often with conditions. North Carolina's, for example, doesn't apply if a domestic violence protective order is in effect for the person being tracked, if a court order prohibits the device, or if the use is otherwise contrary to law. Know your state's law before you place a tracker.
Is it appropriate for every case?
Even where it's lawful, clients, adjusters and attorneys may have their own views on tracker use in some cases, such as workers' compensation or personal injury. Use it legally, and use it smartly.
Who is responsible?
You are. By ordering, you confirm that you're a licensed investigator and that you'll only place a tracker where you have the legal right to. See our Terms of Service.
